I constantly see people asking how they can get more Likes and Followers, and usually a few people will say "buy them on Fiverr". FORGET THAT CRAP! Fake followers don't help ANYONE except the people selling them, and you will LOSE ALL CREDIBILITY once people figure out your audience is fake.

The smart people will say POST ENGAGING CONTENT!

I can personally attest to the success of this model, going from relatively unknown in 2009 to the top eCommerce Expert on the web by 2011. BUT THIS TOOK TIME -־ In addition to writing my own content, I would spend at least an hour a day scouring the news sites, finding mainstream news articles covering the latest eCommerce trends, shortening the URLs, and posting them periodically throughout the day. Tools like Hootsuite made it easy to schedule the posts, and Google Alerts helped make finding the latest news easier, but even then I was still doing all the work. It became really tedious, but was necessary to stay relevant and build authority in my space.
